Product Details
Kanamycin is a bactericidal antibiotic that acts by binding to the 70S ribosome subunit, causing misreading of mRNA. The kanamycin resistance gene typically encodes aminoglycoside phosphotransferase. This enzyme can alter this antibiotic, preventing its interaction with ribosomes.
